The Bangkok art scene is busy this week, with openings at 6060 Arts Space, MOCA Bangkok, The Jim Thompson Art Center and the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, plus the inaugural Art Bangkok fair at Siam Paragon. Here is your essential guide to the capital's latest art movements.

DILIGENT MIND
Venue: 6060 Arts Space
Exhibition Dates: 5 – 30 October
Solo exhibition by Pisanu Waiyathu. The lotus, which grows from the mud and must survive its environment to emerge on the water's surface, becomes a symbol of perseverance and diligence. Open 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM, closed on Sundays.

"Woven Echoes": From Roots to Routes

ART IN MOTION: Synchronicity × Resonate
Venue: Art4C Art Centre
Exhibition Dates: 7 – 29 October
An exhibition exchange between Bangkok and Yogyakarta, including Synchronicity, a show by visual arts students of Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts with the Faculty of Recorded Media Arts at Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta. Art, as the show puts it, is never created in isolation between people, cultures and moments. Opening ceremony: 7 October, 5:00 PM onwards. Open 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, closed on Mondays.

Art Bangkok 2026 (Nex Hall, 5th Floor, Siam Paragon)

Dates: 7 – 11 October
Thailand's first official international art fair, at NEX Hall and Art Jewel, 5th floor, Siam Paragon. VIP preview on 7 October, open to the public 8 – 11 October, with galleries including Richard Koh Fine Art, Gallery CURU, KYLA, M Contemporary, Number 1 Gallery, Joyman Gallery and Maison JE.

L'Odyssée
Venue: ATT 19
Exhibition Dates: 8 October – 29 November
Philippe Rossetti and Simon Pillard (Munchausen), a creative duo with more than 20 years across art, design, interiors and creative direction, turn inward with a personal exploration of memory, displacement and the experience of living between places. Opening night: 8 October, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, open to the public.
Lab XL: Care, Burnout, Access & Inclusion in the Cultural Sector

Nostalgia Surfer
Venue: KICHgallery

Solo exhibition by Jarb at KICHgallery, postponed from its original 2 October opening because of the flooding in Bangkok.

The Reef Day: Activities and Artist and Scientist Talk (Beneath the Surface; Everything)
Venue: Bangkok 1899

Part of Bangkok Climate Action Week and the exhibition Beneath the Surface; Everything, by artist Natalie Limwatana with Love Wildlife and the Aow Thai Marine Ecology Center. Hands-on activities with the Love Wildlife Foundation and the exhibition from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, plus a conversation between Natalie Limwatana and marine scientist Dr. Rahul Mehrotra at 5:00 PM on art, ocean conservation and coral reef restoration.

Strange Water Hyacinth (เรือนลอย)
Venue: Warin Lab Contemporary
Exhibition Dates: 10 October – 24 November
Exhibition by the Salad Khaek collective, the first project of Warin Lab Contemporary's mentorship program Curating the Future: Art & Ecology. It traces the histories of the Khaek Phae and their settlements along the Chao Phraya River, through painting, sculpture, installation, writing and moving images. Opening reception: 10 October, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, at Nomad Art Residency Bangkok, Charoen Rat Road Soi 30, Khlong San.

The Preservation of Fire: Seeds Journey Akha embroidery workshop
Venue: Bangkok Kunsthalle
Dates: 10 – 11 October
Workshop with Seeds Journey on Akha embroidery patterns and seed beading, part of the public program of The Preservation of Fire by Busui Ajaw. Saturday 10 October, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, and Sunday 11 October, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. 250 THB, in Thai, registration required.

SANCTA LIGATURA: Gothic art night with live Shibari performance
Venue: Chaloem La Art House
Performance: 10 October (7:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
A gothic night of art, shibari and performance: an art exhibition, rooftop drinks, a live shibari performance by Rata Shibari and a limited three-seat shibari trial. 300 THB including one drink, with the trial at 500 THB. Consent form required, reserve via Instagram or Facebook DM.

Passing It On: Akha Culture Across Generations
Venue: Bangkok Kunsthalle
Talk: 10 October (2:30 PM – 3:45 PM)
A conversation with Seeds Journey, a group of young people from ethnic communities in northern Thailand, on what different generations value and how young people keep their cultures alive. Part of the public program of The Preservation of Fire by Busui Ajaw, in Thai.

Front & Back: The Art of the Steal
Venue: MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art)
Exhibition Dates: 10 October – 22 November
Tawatchai Somkong signs his name on the front of works by 34 artists while the real creators sign the back. If everyone agrees to the theft, who really owns the art? Opening ceremony: 10 October, 2:00 PM.

And Still, Another After
Venue: The Jim Thompson Art Center
Exhibition Dates: 10 October – 29 March
Curated by Rinrada Na Chiangmai, an exhibition of six emerging artists on how a younger generation in Thailand encounters social, economic and ecological conditions inherited from the recent past, among them Bhumikorn Kongtaveelert, Pakapat Limlertphonboon, Sareena Sattapon, Nat Setthana, Marisa Srijunpleang and PLERN VERN. On view in Galleries 1–2 and the William Warren Library until 29 March 2027. Opening ceremony: 10 October, 6:00 PM onwards.

Solo exhibition by Attapon Kabbuakhai (KhawX), exploring a blue space where reality and unreality overlap and perception, bodily sensation and fading memory meet. Opening reception: 10 October, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Open 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM, closed on Sundays.

STILL : ON – Artist Tour

Sunday Cinema: Hiroshima Mon Amour (Alain Resnais, 1959)

Alain Resnais, 1959. When a French actress and a Japanese architect meet in Hiroshima, a brief affair awakens memories of love, loss and the enduring scars of war. Part of the biweekly Sunday Cinema series, with walk-ins welcome from 5:00 PM.
