Artist Talk: Ya-chu Kang

Salt For Svanetia

A 1930 Soviet silent documentary by Mikhail Kalatozov. This ethnographic film focuses on the survival and daily customs of the Svan people in the isolated mountain village of Ushguli, Georgia. It is regarded as a significant piece of early cinema history.

Magic Mountain: The Frequency of Tectonics
Venue: Warin Lab Contemporary
Date: January 17 & 18 (3:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
A live performance by jiandyin exploring the subtle, constant movements of the Earth's tectonic plates. The piece translates geological shifts that occur beneath human awareness into a sensory experience. PREDATOR
Venue: Art4C Art Centre (2nd Floor)

The debut solo exhibition by Voraprach "MEEPOOH" Krishnasuwan. The work consists of surrealist paintings that examine social power and systemic authority. The artist is the grandson of National Artist Pichai Nirand.

House, Temple, Prison
Venue: Bangkok Kunsthalle
Date: January 17 (3:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
Presented by architects Wtanya Chanvitan and Takahiro Kume (Bangkok Tokyo Architecture), this lecture explores the domestic space as a site for lived experience and resistance, drawing connections to the spatial practices of the artist Absalon.

Tracing Places, Weaving Times
Venue: Tang Contemporary Art Bangkok
Opening: January 17 (4:00 PM)
A group exhibition featuring Sornchai Pongsa, Butsapasila Wanjing, and Amalapon Robinson. Curated by Cynthia Liu and Terry Chong, the show explores how identity is formed at the intersection of place, culture, and memory. The works bridge rural borderlands and urban density to offer a multilayered portrait of contemporary Thailand.

Dream
Venue: Number1Gallery at Silom21

A solo exhibition by Ayino. This collection explores the overlap between memory and emotion through symbolic fragments. The works are composed to present a visual universe that sits between reality and subconscious imagination.

Sans Soleil (Sunless)
Venue: Bangkok Kunsthalle
Date: January 18
A 1983 French documentary by Chris Marker. This experimental film-essay uses footage from Japan, Africa, and Iceland to examine the nature of human memory and the way global histories are perceived and recorded.
