Life and Land (Part 2)
Venue: La Lanta Fine Art
Exhibition Dates: 11 – 25 August
In partnership with Warin Lab Nomad, La Lanta Fine Art is delighted to host the second chapter of “Life and Land”, a collaborative photography exhibition from Lazy Man Coffee (TH) and Invisible Flock (UK). A constellation of photographs, taken with bamboo pinhole cameras and bio-developed with local plants, reflect the indigenous Pgak’yau.
Rat Section
Venue: Bangkok Kunsthalle
Performance: 14 August (7:30 PM – 10:00 PM)
Rat Section is a music and performance project currently based in London that treats choreography, set design, and the specific qualities of each space as integral parts of every show. Their work moves between experimental electronic, pop, spoken word and club music, constructing a mythology that deliberately blurs the line between biography and fiction.
Bright Lights, Big City
Venue: Harper's Gallery
Exhibition Dates: 14 August – 1 November
Harper’s is pleased to announce Bright Lights, Big City: a group exhibition of twenty-four artists opening at Harper’s Bangkok on August 14. The show takes its name from Jay McInerney’s iconic 1984 novel, a book that memorialized the freewheeling spirit of an ascendant New York. Like New York in the Eighties, today’s Bangkok is an incubator of new opportunity.
BITROOT REVIVAL: THE 9 GLITCHES OF FORTUNE
Venue: Art4C Art Centre
Exhibition Dates: 15 August – 14 September
When algorithms are no longer the final answer, a journey through nine glitches begins—inviting us to question the very meaning of fate. “BITROOT REVIVAL: THE 9 GLITCHES OF FORTUNE” Exhibition explores the evolving relationship between the human spirit and digital systems, suggesting that destiny is not predetermined but continuously rewritten through the glitches of an algorithm-driven world.
Sīmā
Venue: Nova Contemporary
Exhibition Dates: 15 August – 3 October
Nova Contemporary is pleased to present “Sīmā”, Vacharanont Sinvaravatn’s first solo exhibition with the gallery. The show opens on 15 August from 5-8pm and will be on view until 3 October. Working across painting and sculpture, Sinvaravatn approaches natural forms, monuments, and ritual objects not as fixed entities, but as presences whose meanings shift across place, time, and encounter.
Urban Fragments: a Soundwalk, Workshop & Performance
Venue: Bangkok Kunsthalle
Performance: 16 August (12:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
Sitting at a dynamic urban crossroads in Yaowarat, Bangkok Kunsthalle is surrounded by dense layers of sound, movement, and activity. This event proposes a way to attune with that environment, turning the city's acoustic texture into shared creative material.
Sunday Cinema: Drive My Car
Venue: Bangkok Kunsthalle
Screening: 16 August (5:30 PM onwards)
Bangkok Kunsthalle is pleased to present “Sunday Cinema”, a film screening programme running throughout the second half of the year, curated by Rosalia Namsai Engchuan. A recurring biweekly screening series at Bangkok Kunsthalle, “Sunday Cinema” brings together films from across times, places, and cinematic traditions that continue to speak to the present.
